Alerts
Get a notification on your phone with the GO / NO-GO verdict for your saved site, at the time you pick.
Checking this deviceā¦
- Every hour the server checks who is due an alert in their own time zone and sends it to their phone.
- If the weather service is down at your chosen hour, it keeps trying for the next two hours.
- You choose whether to hear every day, only on a GO, or on a GO or marginal night.
- Why do I have to add it to my Home Screen on iPhone?
- Apple only lets websites send notifications once they are installed as a web app (iOS and iPadOS 16.4 or newer). Android and desktop browsers can use alerts straight from the site.
- I turned alerts on but nothing arrives.
- Send a test first. If it fails, check Settings, then Notifications, then Dark Window on your phone, and make sure Focus or Do Not Disturb is not holding it back. If the test works but the daily alert does not, the hourly check on the server may not be running yet.
- What do you store about me?
- Only what is needed to send the alert: your phone's push address (a long random web address, not your name or number), the location you chose to about 100 meters, your time zone and your alert choices. Turn alerts off and all of it is deleted.
- Which scoring rules do alerts use?
- The default GO / NO-GO rules. Custom rules from the planner are saved only in the browser and are not sent to the alert system.
